European Union has chosen to invest in the development of the Metrocargo technology through the MIT – Metrocargo Intermodal Transport project, aimed at the marketing of the system. MIT has been led by company partner I.LOG – Iniziative Logistiche S.r.l. which owns the patent for Metrocargo, and has been intended to bring the system from research to market stage and to promote its dissemination among logistic decision-makers throughout Europe. In addition to I.LOG, other important companies of international logistic and rail field have contributed to MIT project: these are Molinari Rail AG, Witt Industrie Elektronik, Systems Navigator and Italian company Imavis.
